Tarek Elhaik

Tarek Elhaik is a film/video curator and assistant professor in the department of Anthropology in Rice University. His Major interests are cosmopolitan modernisms, avant-garde media arts, media and visual anthropology, Latin America, Middle East. Film/Video curatorial activity include programs of experimental and avant-garde cinema from Mexico, Lebanon and Morocco for the Pacific Film Archive, Ruhr Trienale, Society for Cinema & Media studies, San Francisco Cinematheque, Cinematheque de Tanger. Recent publications include “Curatorial Designs in the Poetics & Politics of Ethnography: Conversation with George E. Marcus”, "Women's Experimental Cinema in the Middle East & North Africa", “At the Frontier of Anthropology & Contemporary Art.”
