Chris Milk and Aaron Koblin

Chris Milk is an American artist, director and photographer who first gained recognition creating music videos for artists including U2, Kanye West, and Arcade Fire.  Renowned for his innovative cross-media storytelling, his technologically pioneering work includes The Johnny Cash Project, both The Wilderness Downtown and Summer Into Dust  with Arcade Fire, and Hello, Again with Beck. His art work has been shown at MoMA and The Tate Modern. His most recent installation, The Treachery of Sanctuary, has been exhibited in San Francisco, Paris, Sao Paulo, Beijing and Seoul. Industry accolades include the Grand Prix Cannes Lion, SXSW’s Best of Show, D&AD Black Pencil, The Grand Clio, MTV Moon Men and multiple Grammy nominations. He was born and raised in Glen Cove, NY and lives in Los Angeles.

Aaron Koblin is an artist specializing in data and digital technologies. Aaron's work takes real world and community-generated data and uses it to reflect on cultural trends and the changing relationship between humans and technology. His projects have been shown at international festivals including Ars Electronica, SIGGRAPH, OFFF, the Japan Media Arts Festival, and TED. He received the National Science foundation's first place award for science visualization and is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He recieved his MFA in Design|Media Arts from UCLA. In 2010 Aaron was the Abramowitz Artist in Residence at MIT and currently leads the Data Arts Team in Google’s Creative Lab.
