DoublePsycho, Split:Riddle

"Double Psycho" is a video projection that fuses the original Hitchcock film and the Gus Van Sant remake. By cutting between every few frames, the two meld into one, erasing the 40 years that separate the two films. "Split:Riddle" applies the same technique to the 1946 film, "The Killers". Each film’s protagonist is murdered early on, and a haunting, retrospective aura skews each story. To experience Neumann's projections is to witness phenomenological critiques of dramatic space within and outside the visual narrative of each, highlighting both the internal time of filmic plot, and the external time that cuts, splits, and divides dramatic action from individual perception.
