"This series of videos is composed of sequences in which we see groups of people in the streets from behind. Suddenly, some of them turn around and watch the camera. Each video is shown in slow motion, and the movements of the people are fluid. Unaccompanied by sound, so we don't actually know why these persons turn themselves back. An atmosphere of suspense is created by the gaze of these strangers suddenly looking back the camera. To create each take I placed myself behind a crowd and yelled at them words of love, kind words like "I love you", "You are beautiful", etc. They turned themselves instinctively; some of them were mad, some others smile; others simply didn’t react. I have done this experiment in three different cities (Paris, New York, and Madrid), every city has a particular touch: in Paris people are angrier, in New York they’re indifferent, in Madrid, more amused."
