"Stethy" was made during a brief trip to Haystack art center in early Oct 2003.  At the time i was building microphone and speaker configurations to amplify minute sounds into time-based installation work.  I had a pair of small binaural mics that just happened to fit inside the rubber tubing of a newly acquired stethoscope.  I soon found myself roaming around listening to the surface of everything.  I wanted to convey the silliness of the experiment, so a backyard narrative about a roaming stethoscope seemed to do the trick.
