Andrew Perchuk is Head of Contemporary Programs and Research at the Getty Research Institute. He is a former Getty Fellow and a Luce/ACLS Fellow. He was formerly editor at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Curator at the Alternative Museum, New York. He is the co-editor of The Masculine Masquerade (MIT Press), and is a frequent contributor to Artforum Magazine. He is the curator of numerous exhibitions including "The Masculine Masquerade: Masculinity and Representation" (MIT List Visual Arts Center), "Maureen Connor: Discreet Objects" (Alternative Museum), and "X-PRZ: Malcolm X Part I" (Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, National Civil Rights Museum, Memphis). He is currently co-editing a volume on the filmmaker and anthologist Harry Smith.
